FREE Basketball Camp in August

Free basketball camp for youth ages 8-10. Come learn the fundamentals of the game as well as the importance of nutrition and healthy living! All campers will receive a t-shirt and a daily nutritious snack. Each camper who attends all 5 days of their session will receive a basketball and medal at the end of the camp. Sponsored by our wonderful friends at LMCHD, in collaboration with Sports & Fitness for kids and Ambrose Recreation & Park District

We are excited to announce that the Ambrose Aquatic Center is open daily! The pool is open from 12-5pm. More details can be found on pages 22 and 23 of the City of Pittsburg Recreation Guide.

Grand Re-Opening of the Gloria "Glo" Magleby Community Garden

On March 17, 2018 the Ambrose Recreation and Parks District in partnership with Contra Costa County and community volunteers celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of the Gloria “Glo” Magleby Community Garden located at 3105 Willow Pass Road. The garden is designed to increase a sense of community ownership and stewardship, foster the development of a community identity and spirit, bring people together from a wide variety of backgrounds, and build community leaders. Community members are welcomed to be members of the community garden by calling the District at 925-458-1601.

    

Attending the Grand Re-Opening were Ryan Brown representing Congressman Mark DeSaulnier; George Escutia representing Senator Steve Glazer; Michael Sponsler representing Assemblymember Tim Grayson; Vincent Manuel representing Supervisor Federal Glover; and Ambrose Board Members Trina Hudson, Mae Torlakson, and Eva Garcia.


Volunteers Needed!



The Ambrose Recreation and Park District is always seeking volunteers to help with special events, park clean-ups, and community center activities. Here is your chance to give back to your community while having fun meeting new friends.

Volunteer applications are available at the District Administrative Offices, at 3105 Willow Pass Road, Monday-Friday 9 am -5 pm.

Volunteers will be placed by their area of interest, by availability, and program times. For more information please call 458-1601

SPECIAL REQUEST: We are looking for a gym attendant who is willing to volunteer their time on Mondays/Wednesday/Fridays from 5:00-9:00pm.

This is an unpaid position but upon volunteering you and a family member will receive free membership as well as other discounts to other programs at the Community Center.
